Yes, and I was being all nice and everything... I rang back and got through to a "supervisor"... spouting the usual spiel until I quoted back what the Ombudsman's team had said to me. Apparently they are now looking at it "with urgent priority".
Of course they are. And I've got laser cannons for eyes... :wall:0 -
I had a quick letter reply from Santandar about a car loan I had with them , they acknowledged i had PPI on it and said my claim was successful, however due to teh repayment exceeding the policy value and it having a £60 repayment a month every time i didn't claim their not giving me the money back ??
I'm calling the Ombutasman me think !!!0 -
::huh: Are you saying you've successfully used the policy to cover you, when you were unable to make the monthly re-payments?I had a quick letter reply from Santandar about a car loan I had with them , they acknowledged i had PPI on it and said my claim was successful, however due to teh repayment exceeding the policy value and it having a £60 repayment a month every time i didn't claim their not giving me the money back ??

Osymandus, if you made a claim on the PPI they won't give you the money back as sell as the claim payments - that is having your cake and eating it. They would refund payment if it was less than you were paid out but you can't really be expecting to make a claim on insurance and then get payment of the insurance back as well surely?
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Sorry I forgot to put the reason (dyslexia ). I bought it to cover for sickness , now that happened . But they said i wasn't covered (Depression was not covered ) , however an odd clause existed that if a parent was dying it paid out (very nice lady at the time informed me ).
Apologies for not putting up the full the details . Also They simply replied to me with out me putting my reasons or claim to claim in written form . I phoned asked if i had the PPI on it , they said yes would investigate and next thing I know i got this .
So really I'm checking in case it's some odd way to get round it (some research on here has suggested Santandar have been know to do this ) and to really get it probably explained to me , the letter is slightly confusing0 -
Hi,
This is just more of a feeler request at the moment..
I had a loan with santander (joint) around 5 - 6 years ago. It was 36 x 540 in re-payments.
At this moment i can't find any more info on it, although i am sure this is somewhere.
I know we had insurance. What i don't know is what the monthly amount for the insurance would have been.
Shot in the dark I know, but any ideas?.
If your loan was only six years ago Santander may still have some info about it, have you phoned them? Failing that try a SAR if you cannot find the documents in your own archive.
Are you sure it was a monthly ppi payment and not single upfront premium?0
