What a great thread to read
well done to all.
I went to LA last year for 5 nights, flights included, hotel and £350 spending money. We spent a heck of a lot more than the included allowance and just thoroughly enjoyed itwe hired a car, drove around every day, ate out and collapsed in the hotel bar of an evening and yes it was costly but very worth it.
I am now going to New Zealand in February for three weeksI won two return flights (on pricing these up they are worth a grand total of £3480)
I am leaving dear hubby at home with the children and taking my mum...we are hiring a campervan and going on the adventure of a lifetime, I have no doubt in my mind that this will cost me a fortune too but life is short, and this was too much of an opportunity to sniff at xx0 -
won a one night break to Much Wenlock last year (near Ironbridge) took the grandchildren and paid for an extra night (£140) as all ten ironbridge museums were included in prize. Still didn't manage to visit all ten but the extra night meant we could do so much more well worth the extra :j0

I won an family AI week hol to Crete a few years ago which was meant to be for four but the promoter was kind enough to let us add another and we just had to pay for one extra flight. They also let us go in school hols which wasn't in t&c's but I explained that I worked in school. DH seemed to think it cost us to go as we needed a better family car to get us to airport but we were changing our car soon anyway so it worked out ok!
I got told by a LWE too and apparently it was my last chance to confirm my win as they had sent letters out previously which I never got! Thankfully they didn't give up on me!
I only enter for hols for family and with travel unless it's fairly local and we can drive there.Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -

I have won a holiday to NYC which I am going on in November. It came with $200 spending money and flights from London. We asked to add on flights from Glasgow so they took that out the spending money and sent us what was left. The spending money would never have been enough to cover us but spending our own money is totally worth it as we have been to NYC a few times we need hardly any spends so the trip is only costing us £400! Without the competition win we would never have been able to afford to go back to NYC this year (I was there in March lol)Won a holiday every year since 2014......come on 2021!!
2020 Winnings Value £37500 -
We won a long weekend in San Francisco which only cost us food and a pass on the trams, they did give us a £100 towards food as rules said breakfast included and hotel didn't do breakfast, but most of the time we had brunch. All trips were included and son ran as to airport and picked us up so only petrol money.
A lot of years ago we won a weekend in Paris and that included everything apart from spending money.
As a few others have said your winning the holiday and experience so need to check details first and if your free to go, the go for it and enjoy the experience but be ready to spend to enjoy.Silver Surfer, Always Smiling

I won our wedding in the Bahamas which included everything (dress, rings, reception, 2 adult guests etc, the list goes on and on) BUT we couldn't do it without our 5 kids so we ended up paying £7,000 so they could come with us!!
However, the money came from a compensation claim as my husband was ill in Egypt and we sued a certain travel agent - so I always tell him he was ill for a good purpose lol.
For the holidays I won to the Cayman Islands, South Africa and Florida we had to pay for food, but I'd rather spend a few hundred quid on food/excursions and get a free holiday than pay in full for the holidays we've won! TBH I don't think we could afford those types of holidays, to get long haul flights and 5 star hotels is worth a fair bit, so I don't mind putting my hand in my pocket for the extras0 -
I won a £3k luxury stay at Chewton Glen. I live in Cambridgeshire, so we paid for petrol and a meal at the services on our way down. The prize included breakfast and dinner - and we couldn't fit a lunch in anyway with all the free food in the room.
In the end it cost us £18 for water at dinner! I thought we were being cheap by drinking water....of course it wasn't tap water.I like to make money
Best wins: £3,000 luxury holiday, holiday in Cornwall, £250 Murad Skincare hamper, angle grinder
:j Make £10 a day challenger - it pays for trips to Florida! :j
