We've never really looked into cheaper internet and phone. We are currently with bt for phone and virgin for broadband, paying around £40 per month for both. We don't watch much tv, so don't need a TV package.
Unlimited broadband and a good service (OH works from home and needs reliable internet) is more important than the price, although we want a good deal.
We are moving into a new house at the start of October. The current owner has Talk Talk.
Any advise on where to start looking? Thanks:)

Is the new house in a Virgin Cable area? If so, look at transferring your existing contract with Virgin (assuming it is currently on cable) to the new address. They might do a deal to include the telephone as well.

No cable. It says The following services are available in your location:
BT Wholesale ADSL
BT Wholesale ADSL Max
BT Wholesale WBC (21CN)
BT FTTC
BT FTTP
TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
Sky Broadband
I know they fitted fibre optic broadband. Is it just bt that provide that?0 -

Fibre to the Cabinet is a wholesale product, so other providers can provide fibre optic broadband also.0 -
Too late now but paying for a BT phone line and not getting the phone line discount VM give on their broadband is not very money saving.
VM Phone + BB is only a couple of quid or so dearer than BB only so even with VM's expensive telephony it would still have been considerably cheaper to use theirs and cancel the BT line.0 -
We avoided being tied into a contract while renting, which is why we've been paying more. Now we are buying and don't have the worry of when we might have to move, we don't mind being tied into a contract.0
