No it isnt his fault that imoral leeches pray on 8 years olds just because it is "possible"
Its not up to parents to be forever vidgulent about the theiving, scheming methods used by corporations in electornics
It is up to those corporations to make a Crystal Clear contract* with an *an adult* and it is the corporations responsibility to make sure they are *making a contract with an adult*
Corporations cannot hide behind ignorance when they fully intend to "sell" to minors though the backdoor
Hence why the law is hot on their tales - and measures will be in place as soon as they can resolve the mechanics
If your moral compass is slighly out of line you need to more upto date with current legislation - and youre on the wrong forum
I doubt it was the 8yo who put their own credit card details in and left the account open with no password requirement.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Not everyone has a full understanding of how their phone operates and they may have thought they had protected it adequately. It's entirely possible for a child to run up a charge on an app without a credit card number ever having been typed into that phone.
There are clearly, as I understand from reports, thousands of these situations arising. They are not all through lax parenting, they are often through failing to understand the security implications of what they're doing. A lack of knowledge in this area doesn't, and clearly hasn't, meant that an individual has no consumer rights because they've made a mistake.
IMO I would contest the charge with the appropriate provider depending on which platform was used. I understand from previous posts on this forum, and others, that a refund is often provided.0

Which is the fault of the parent for failing to educate themselves about a product they have bought. There are clearly, as I understand from reports, thousands of these situations arising.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers. They are not all through lax parenting, they are often through failing to understand the security implications of what they're doing. A lack of knowledge in this area doesn't, and clearly hasn't, meant that an individual has no consumer rights because they've made a mistake.
But a lack of knowledge doesn't mean that the blame or liability should fall on the entity that provided the services that were asked for. If it did, we then have a huge can of worms opening up because people don't read instructions or T&Cs.
Instead, the blame lies with those who fail to educate themselves on what they are handling.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
