Hello MSE,
I recently entered into a new contract with TalkTalk in July this year. I have just checked my bill and I am paying more than I realised!
Can someone help me with the breakdown of my bill please? I find it overly confusing:

Secondly, seeing as I don't have TV on my package, I was told during an online chat session with TalkTalk that despite being in an 18 month contract, there wouldn't be a Downgrade Package Fee of £50.
This is what I was told:
You: I read there was a charge of £50 for downgrading your package whilst in a contract.
Nathan: That is if you have our TV service.
You: So, seeing as I only have broadband and calls, I should be fine?
Nathan: That is correct.
So, despite being in a contract with TalkTalk, which will remain whether or not I downgrade my package, I should be fine to do so without penalty.
Can anyone recommend a more down to earth package to downgrade to with TalkTalk please? I am currently on Fibre Large with Phone and Line Rental.
Thank you.

Fibre is normally an 18m minimum term, if so you can't downgrade without penalty during that period. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Is this what you're looking for? You pay:
£15.95 per month for line rental
£1.75 per month for broadband (Just for 6 months. Then it goes up to £3.50)
£15.00 per month extra for fibre broadband
Total = £32.70 per month (plus the cost of calls)
= £27.80 with speedy payment discountCan anyone recommend a more down to earth package to downgrade to with TalkTalk please? I am currently on Fibre Large with Phone and Line Rental.
Once your minimum contract period ends, you could save £15 a month by not having Fibre Large. Whether that's a good idea or not depends on what you use your internet connection for.0
