I'm moving house soon and wish to cancel my 12mth Primus Home Phone + Broadband package (1yr line rental already paid upfront). I'm not sure precisely on what date the contract will end (and consequently the charges that may be incurred as a result of cancelling early). I signed up on 26 October 2013, with confirmation and a username provided the following day, and the phone + broadband service came into effect on 15 November. The T&Cs state:
Further on the early termination fees are stated:
I pay the (admittedly minuscule) broadband bill by Direct Debit, monthly. When I terminate the agreement early am I also liable for the broadband charges up to the end of the 12 month period?
Thanks.
Do I take it the contract will run to 27 October 2014 or 15 November 2014?2. Duration
This Agreement shall come into full force and effect from the date of acceptance by Primus and subject to earlier termination in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Agreement, will continue for a minimum initial term of twelve (12) consecutive months, including the month in which acceptance occurs (the “Initial Term”). After this Initial Term, this Agreement shall continue thereafter unless terminated by either party giving to the other not less than 30 days written notice to expire at any time.
Further on the early termination fees are stated:
So if I cancel on 1 October and the contract runs to 27 October then it'll be £10 otherwise till 15 November £20.12.5 In the event of termination by the Customer under Clause 12.3 .prior to the expiry of the Initial Term, Primus shall be entitled to be paid immediately by the Customer an amount being equal to a flat fee of £5.00 per service for each of the remaining months of the Initial Term which would have been paid by the Customer if the Initial Term had been completed. In the event of a pro-rated month the full fee of £5.00 per service will remain applicable.
