    It's possibly to do with that, any changes in income, anything unusual coming into your account or son's account such as a friend lending him money. These things can trigger it.

    who is the interview with?
    is it the job centre or the council?
    if the job centre it wont be about housing benefit as the council deal with that
  • It's with jcp,they just say we have to bring id with us as they want to discuss our benefits as we were to tell them if anything changed with circumstance but nothing has changed at all

    They can go back years so needn't necessarily be to do with a recent change of circumstances.

    From previous posts I noticed that you were/are getting a pension - was this bereavement allowance ('old' widow's pension)? Did you report this?

    Not trying to 'trip you up' :), it's just that some people don't realise that some pensions are taken into account for means tested benefits.
  • That was a bereavement pension from dwp that lasts 1 year,my income support was deducted whilst I received the pension so can't see it being that
  • Will dwp tell me why they have asked me to attend interview
