Asking prices in August are now yesterday's news remember?
Halifax have said today that sold prices increased in August though. Highest since 2008 and about £9k above your April peak.

this is of course total nonsense
what i did find quite satisfying to find though was looking at my mortgage statement
after around 6months of owning this home, £5k or so has been paid off the mortgage
that is £5k that would have been lining my landlord's pocket, so she can buy more houses to tell more people they can't a have a cat in their own home0
