Late payments issue halifax

Hi all,
just posting on here to query some disagreements I am currently having with Halifax bank collections office.
To cut a story short, I had an overdraft on the account and switched banks. I didnt pay the overdraft off at the time because I didnt have enough money so I set up a payment plan.
To pay the agreed amount of £100 a month I had to phone up there number to make a payment. On request they gave me some information to set up a standing order, when I tried to do this the standing order would not set-up (trying online with lloyds online banking) so I continued phoning up to make the payments.
When my payment due for 28/7/14 came up I made the call and made the payment and explained that I wouldnt be able to make the payment the following month, till the 30th due to me being on holiday till that date. She explained that there was no problem with this and she would leave a note on my file extending the dates so my payment could be processed.
Anyway thats when my troubles started. As expected my payments left my bank account on the 31st of July, on the first of august i received a payment into my account of £100 which states 555 card payment.
Anyway believing I had made this payment I enjoyed my holiday, and when I came back I rang the collections office to make a payment. They notified me this was not possible as they werent in charge of my account anymore and that I should wait for a letter or phone call with further information.
Today a week later I phoned again asking for information on how to make the payment, they put me through to the other department who then stated the collections team should still be looking after my account, so then I got put back through to collections who said I needed to set-up a new payment plan.
At this stage I was annoyed due to the messing about I had done. Then I had an email from Noddle that my new credit report was ready, so I checked and it said I had 2 late payments from the july and august collections.
I made a formal complaint and they stated I had broken the agreement twice. And there was nothing they could do.
I explained the situation. But still they were adament I was in the wrong. My payment went out of my bank, on the 30th July and now I beleive the 555 card payment was in fact them returning the payment.
On what grounds can I make an appeal to this, because I made this payment and it was them that returned the payment to my account.
Every time I paid over the phone they explained the payment process and I asked if it would affect my credit rating with the payment possibly taking time to clear and they said no.
Yet when I was explaining this to the complaints department, all he said was im sorry you was given miss information.
Could anybody give me there advice on this situation

If you think you have a case complain and demand that they give you a final response so that you can take them to the Financial Ombudsman over this, or you will go to the FOS after the required 8 weeks wthere they like it or not.
See: http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm
As said there, the FOS may agree to write earlier than that on your behalf. Speak to them to see if the will.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

If you didn't pay back the overdraft when requested and paid over a few months, then you are likely to get late markers or an arrangement marker on your credit file.
If you believe they said it would not impact your credit file, then complain to the FOS as it sounds like Halifax rejected your complaint.:beer:0 -
They agreed to set up a payment plan when I rung the bank about the payment, and the payments for the previous 3 months were said to have been paid on time.
The payment that is said to have been late is the payment which left my bank then appears to have been returned a day later which I didnt realise as I was on holiday at the time.
The payments appear like this....
31 Jul 14 RECOVERIES HALIFAX CD 3412 DEB 100.00 992.07
01 Aug 14 555 CARD PAYMENT BGC 100.00 1,092.07
As anyone seen this kind of payment before 555 card payment.
The second late payment is due to them saying I broke the payment agreement for July and wouldnt let me make the payment at the end of August
I asked for for a written copy from the complaint person I spoke with so i can see his argument of the complaint.
I will have a look at that website and fill in the information. thankyouSave 12k in 2015 number 218: £5440/£17000 -

It sounds like "Late payments issue wpearson92" would be a more fitting title given the fact the required action rested with you. But if they said it won't affect your credit rating (credit rating's don't exist anyway) then I'm not sure that changes much because you still would have had to comply with the terms of the account and it seems you didn't.0
