Woohoo about the delay refund. Always good to get a refund if you ask me!

With your 2 cards, theres no use you paying them both off if by the end of the month you're going to have balances on them both again as you've just gone full circle. Why not focus on paying the minimum on you bcard and then getting rid of your Capital one and then closing it down? You've then finally rid yourself of that horrible cap1 card and will only have a small balance on your barclaycard (Which you should try and not use for the month)? What you thinking?

    thanks sauce.

yes I think its probably best to just attack them one at a time, I was planning on spreading it out as of this months pay cheque, but that will just take them each a little longer probably.
so yes ill set the debit for capone higher, and work hard to pay it off with extra incomes

so gonna whack £100 off capone this pay cheque and try power the other £70 or so off!

Yeah, rather that over-pay and end up with debt built back up again you're best to make it manageable chunks (something I'm super bad at doing) so that you're actually depleting the balance over time rather than paying it off then creating it again!

I think you're right thats most reasonable.
I can add extra to it through selling on ebay. and then I know its not actually taking from my wages any more.

going to set myself a weekly budget now, previously ive been budgeting per month with assumptions about how much i spend over the month. but this can mean one week i live cheap and another i spend way too much, if i just have a limit then i know how much i can spend between a monday-sunday, i think this will help me keep costs down during the weekdays and then i can fully enjoy my weekends!

its been a cycle of skint and overspending recently and its just not fun :o

just worked out now that my debit date has began for MBNA, it will let me do more balance transfers, there's just enough on it to knock off £100 from the capone card, and then I'll pay the final £80 or so with the october paycheque AND IT WILL BE GONE. CUT UP, ACCOUNT CLOSED - SEE YA!

    can't wait.

means that this month too my debit to barclaycard has been set to £45, then come the following month this will increase again, and then it will hopefully be paying off the barclaycard by perhaps the december pay cheque - then all my efforts would go into the halifax card! and with a likely xmas bonus coming up.. that will accelerate!

I think now i would rather just get rid of the barclaycard as soon as I can too now, rather than keep it for backup, once I don't have to pay towards it then it means i can put more into a basic savings.. and have my own backup to dip into when i need it. my credit is what it is, and getting rid of cards altogether is a good aim, let the credit rebuild slightly when i only have two cards left and am massively overpaying on one.. then i most likely would end up back with a barclaycard or another but with better rates etc.

I've got everything set in my budgeting sheet to give me a WEEKLY budget now. to help me better track my spending, so very week i know exactly how much i have left to spend that week, and at th send of the week if I've done well by the weekend then ill have more money to spend that weekend won't i! so i can still enjoy myself, and be proud to do so.

setup to throw £15 into a basic savings account too, the main reason for this is to have SOMETHING to fall back on, its a small amount but it will add up. along with my blue rewards there will be £22 going into a basic savings account each month, and the way my ends of the month have been going I've been having to borrow more and more money from my mother which makes me angry at myself - but hey its done lets move on and try to repay her even though as usual she says you don't need to pay me back she's so focused on making sure I'm ok - she's my rock!!!

heres to the start of living within my means

    :T

CapOne>MBNA balance transfer complete today. I just sent an online payment to capital one to clear the remaining balance - and sent a message to ask them to close my account! (we'll see if they do, might have to ring them or whatever)

BUT my capitalone card is (very shortly) GONE. NO MORE. SAYONARA!:D:j:beer:

That leaves me with 3! I have nearly £50 going to the Barclaycard this month, so my total spend on debts is £200 this month but at the end of each of my now budgeted weeks if I have money left over I will consider chucking it at the bcard to get rid of it as soon as, there's just £200 to go.

Considering buying a few wholesale bits to sell on ebay, which if I do would bring my weekly budget down to around the £110 mark - which is still plenty I think. Then can just throw the profits at the debts!

Really wish I had an automated way to see just what I spend within a week budget, but nor money dashboard nor ontrees app help with a weekly budget system.

    Omg! Great news!

No more capital one *does a happy dance for you*

What's your next BIG aim? I always find having a big target is great.

    Close Barclaycard next?
