Sell iPhone 5s now before 6 is announced?
As most probably know, iPhone 6 will be announced on the 9th I believe. I will want to upgrade ASAP. I'm a tech freak I can't help it.
Anyway, I have an inkling that the 5s is likely to drop in price/worth immediately as the iPhone 6 is officially announced with a release date.
Has anyone experienced this? I'm wondering whether to try and sell my iPhone 5s now whilst I still might get a bit more worth to put towards the purchase of the 6...
Thoughts?

It depends what Apple do.
Rumours are two new phones in different sizes, but its likely the 4S will be discontinues, I would suspect the 5S will either be discontinued or go to single model with 8 or 16GB model, with the 5C also going to a single model with a 8GB memory change.
Apple also historically will reduce prices on existing stock at the announcement and stop selling it when the new models ship.
Rememeber also new phones will probably not ship for a few weeks to a month after its announced and depending on when you order it may be a while till you get a phone.0 -
5s - small screen, boring phone.
You can pick it up for under £300 already.
6s - likely to be more of the same - go for android.0 -
I know change and progress in Apple land is impossible
.
Its just preference. Apple know user experience backwards. Android OS is something which those who wish to customise every little detail prefer, I just like things to work out the box. The two differences in a nut shell really. Pure preference.0 -

Android does work out of the box - and better than iOS.
Pain in the *** iOS is so limiting - total waste of money I flogged on sim free 5S - never again. Even after jailbreaking - useless and pointless.0 -

Haha it really depends what you're trying to use it for?
If you want a phone and a music player, it does it. I often get that kind of response from an Android user, but because they're using it for all sorts of other things that make it more than just its main requirement, a phone.0 -
Yeah, better to get it sold now, just think how many people are gonna trade in their 5/5s/5c as part exchange for the 6 when it comes out...October 2014 challenge: £111.44/310
November 2014 challenge: £106.62/300
Missing December out - see you all in January0 -

You and every other Apple fan will know the 6 is imminent, so the value of a used 5 is unlikely to plummet any more than it already has (and will continue to).
Won't get into the Apple/Android "discussion" - you've stated your position quite clearly anyway.

Your not a tech geek at all, just a victim of planned and inbuilt obselesence designed entirely by marketing professionals to get you to part with the money you work so hard for. You could always turn over a new leaf, not act like a mindless sheep and put the money you would have wasted to a good use instead?0
