Passport and traveling to America

I have found the US Embassy rule that the Visa is still valid so long as I have another valid passport in the same name, I am travelling in 3 weeks. The Airline wont know that I need a Visa at check-in so would it be best to just present my current pasport and ask for the white visa form after take off. Does this sound ok? I will also print the US Embassy web site page just in case.
I suggest you do both, and surely you will be fine.
As a matter of interest, why will you be using your visa rather than the VWP? The most obvious reason for using a visa would be if you wanted to stay for an extended period, or arrive on a one-way ticket, but in that case the airline would know you needed a visa.0 -

I have a couple of convictions and was paranoid my ex would phone the US up and get me refused entry, hell hath no fury etc.... so I applied for a Visa, it was relatively easy back then, pre 9/11, fill out a form, a couple of bank statements, mortgage statement and details of the conviction, pop them in the post with my passport and 2 weeks later all sorted.0 -
they add whatever time is left on your old passport to new one anyway ..so seems very sensible to get it done.
use the Post office check and send service if you worried about delay. i did and it came back within a week.:TBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

We've just booked to go to Las vegas and our booking documents state on them " PASSPORT VALIDITY: passport must be valid 6 months after return date.
I wondered what they mean when they ask about convictions? anyone clarify?

You can't use the Visa Waiver Program if you have criminal convictions, you would need to apply for a visa.0 -

If the airline turned him away he should take legal action against them to recover his costs, they were as misguided as you appear to be.
He did have a UK passport - he was denied boarding and missed his trip.
Moorakerz your ill informed , dangerous posts are becoming quite tiresome.
Maybe for a moment you could actually consider the consequences if anyone should go along with your thinking.
I am not guaranteeing that any/everyone travelling without having 6 months will definitely have a problem. What I am, however, GUARANTEEING is that anyone doing so is placing themselves at possible risk and for the sake of ensuring they never leave themselves with less than 6 months it isn't worth that possible and very real risk.
Tell me Moonrakerz if someone out there misses their family holiday that they've saved all year for, that they've all been oh so looking forward to and when they were denied at the airport and were devasted and kids crying their eyes out - will you explain to them why your advice (which just lost them their holiday) should indeed be given more weight than that of a travel professional of 28 years standing ? Oh also will you compensate them financially ? This sceanrio could just as easily be interchanged with a businessman going for that final business meeting over seas that would clinch that multi million pound contract.
Moonrakerz - this is real life - it's not about one upmanship or wanting to be seen as "right" on an internet forum - this stuff can and WILL affect peoples lives.
Maybe you could give your ego a rest and stop dishing out poor, ill informed advice that you are not qualified to give - think of the recipients - not yourself.
THANK YOU

Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying :mad:0
