I want a new phone
I've an old style Nokia and operate PAYG with Virgin. But I want a new phone, for the camera really, but don't want to pay for it if I can avoid it.
I'm not really a mobile user: it's main use is as my alarm clock in the morning
and the occasional (at times very occasional) call throughout the week. A tenner might last me 8-10 weeks.
As most of my calls are incoming I want to hold onto my old number - any suggestions.
Kevin

If you have registered your phone with Virgin, you would've received £10 towards a new phone for every £100 that you have topped up with (To a maximum that I can't remember).
You would also get an extra £10 off because you don't need a sim pack and therefore keep your number.
This would go some to a PAYG phoneWell life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -

I'm in exactly the same boat (Virgin PAYG). My old 3310 is giving up the ghost so I have been gawping cluelessly online at the available phones. Absolutely mind-boggling!
I only use mine for the occasional text or emergency call, so I don't want an expensive thing with all the whistles and bells.
I was today looking at the Lobster 320 that has appeared on the Virgin site for £29.99..... although paying that much just to replace something I rarely use is a painful thought _pale_.
I like Virgin as it has 3p texts to other V users (some family members) and free voicemail so I want to stay with them - and keep my existing number.
Any other suggestions from knowledgeable people?
I wouldn't have got anywhere near £100 top-up over the past 3 years, so I'm afraid your helpful hint wouldn't be any good to methesaint wrote:£10 towards a new phone for every £100 that you have topped up with

Maybe not, but if you've registered your number with Virgin you are eligible to get the Lobster for £19.99, or the Nokia 1112 for £9.99.
Add £2.99 for delivery,Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
Thanks...I thought they'd stopped doing that deal as I couldn't find it on the site until I dug deep (after your post:D).
I have now ordered the Lobster for £19.99 + p&p.
I hope it's ok .....for a cheap replacement :think:0 -
Too late now, but I forgot to tell you that there was a possible £8 saving if you'd gone through quidco as well. Sorry.:o
Any other Virgin users (Contract or PAYG) out there, they are offering £2 credit if you register with them now. :AWell life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0
