G24 not helpful with pcn

I have read quite a lot of the threads on here, but I am now starting to worry, so would appreciate some advise on my predicament, as I can't find anything like my experience. Story so far briefly. More detailed info if anyone needs it:
Went to Crewe for a weekend 80 miles away from home.
Visited grand junction retail park overstayed. 1hr (visited shops and had Costa coffee)
Received pcn final notice letter from g24 15 July 2014. Read through these threads and found the popla appeal letter template, used this and sent to g24.
They replied stating that my appeal time has expired and I only have 2 options
1. pay the ridiculous sum of £85 via the payment line.
2. Do nothing and they will seek to recover the monies via debt recovery and possible court action.
I'm now lost at what to do next. Can anyone give me my next actions quite urgently please?

there are literally dozens of overstay threads on here
also what actually happened on the day is irrelevant
read the newbies sticky thread at the top of the forum
post #1 deals with the info and initial appeal
post #3 deals with the popla appeal
not difficult at all really , sorry to be so blunt but really, its not hard like you seem to be making it sound
and that sticky thread tells you everything you need to know, with examples, and with a flow chart too
check you have a popla code with their rejection letter
good luck
ps:- the template letter is for G24
the popla letters are for popla when you have your code0 -
G24 are lying scummers. just ignore them. Did you know :
1. They threatened me with court over the phone and when I pointed out they had never taken anyone to court the relpy was "I don't give a sh*t".
2. They broke their contract with Nominet by giving a false address ... TWICE !
3. They avoid paying VAT and have been under investigation by HMRC.
Fine upstanding company G24 ..... not. Seriously, ignore them, I've found more intelligent jellies than then directors of G24."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
No-one should be 'lost' when the top thread covers ALL situations, pretty much. Can you let me know what's not clear about the sections in the Newbies thread 'so you think you are too late to appeal' and post #4 of the same thread, which tells you about the tedious debt collector letters. Yawn. Yawn again...discussions about these silly junk mail letters are boring as they've been talked about to death on parking forums for nearly a decade! Easily searched for.I'm now lost at what to do next. Can anyone give me my next actions quite urgently please?
And, just to say what do you think we all did before POPLA existed?! Did people ignore debt collector letter chains, YES, that's why there's an entire sticky thread from years ago still at the top of the forum in Crabman's sticky threads, called 'PPC letter chains' showing ignored letters going back 5 years or more. It was the done thing - people collected them. If you missed the appeal deadline for POPLA...so what?
Or do you mean you never received any Notice to Keeper at all, merely a 'final notice' out of the blue?
If so then complain to the BPA by email as shown in the same top thread post #6 about making complaints. The top thread does cover it all even though I say so myself.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

did you appeal it within the 28 day deadline timeframe ?
ie:- within 28 days of the original pcn
and have you complained to the landowner and asked for a cancellation ?
if not , why not ?0 -
It certainly sounds like the OP made some sort of appeal outside the 28 day time.
What he does not make clear is did he
1) receive a windscreen ticket first
2) did he receive a postal NTK and ignore it until final demand came?
3) Was the final demand the first letter her received?
And he is clearly confused as he says he sent a POPLAappeal to the PCN ehic is obviously wrong.
So come back and give a clear time line of events after re reading the newbie thread and we will try to direct you more.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. OK all thanks for the replies, I am reading through the sticky thread for info, but because I have been threatened with debt collectors and court proceedings, I wanted to speed the process up, so started this thread to help me find my answers. Apologies if this is not the correct procedure but I am getting a little concerned now, and just wanted to try and speed things up. Exact sequence of events for my situation.
11 may 2014 - Overstayed at grand central retail park, Crewe by just over 1 hr, no ticket given car park controlled by ANPR.
15 july 2014 - received the final notice letter from G24 found the newbies sticky thread with details of appeal, and used the g24 template popla appeal letter and sent to g24.
02 Aug 2014 - received a reply from g24 stating that my appeal time had elapsed and that I only had the 2 options pay up or debt collectors/court action.
Going through the threads I noticed people mentioning an initiaI PCN mail, I didn't receive the initial notification mail but only the final notice dated 15 July.
27 Aug 2014 - I have wrote to Crewe council to complain about the £85 parking ticket, and their reply was that they don't look after the car park, and that it's controlled by g24.
This in a nutshell is everything. I will check the newbies sticky, but just want to speed things up. Thanks again to all who have posted/replied.0 -
you need to read the part about ignoring debt collector letters or court action , for now
as for this pcn, if you did not receive any NTK within the 14 days then complain to the BPA and DVLA as already instructed and give them copies of all paperwork
both these points are covered in the NEWBIES sticky thread you did not read
debt collectors can do nothing and G24 dont do court, not at the moment anyway, but they or the debt collectors have 6 years to chase this up, so another 5.5 years to go
only G24 or the landowner can take you to court, or cancel this ticket
ps:- you should have sent G24 the template letter in post #1 of that thread, not the popla appeal letter - you wont be speeding anything up so take a breath and READ0 -
ok quick update.
G24 rejected my appeal letter for a popla code, and have now got CCSCollect involved.
Received letter from these Mon 15 Sept, stating i have 14 days to pay to avoid probable further action.
Can I still appeal at this stage ? and to whom ?0 -
No. I thought you'd read the debt collector section laughing at such letters and giving you the option to challenge the ticket as a one-off. It was merely to state your case and was never going to get a late POPLA code. It was never going to stop the junk mail! Stop worrying.
Please, just search the forum for your letter chain as we can't discuss the same letters every week for years. CCS Collect have been discussed on this forum for over five years and you'll soon bore yourself silly reading all the other threads from people worrying pointlessly about a pile of junk mail. Search keywords would be 'CCS Collect' and each time you get a new letter, choose an unusual keyword or sentence form the letter and search here or Google a whole sentence. Boring letters, covered & discussed on forums everywhere. Easy to search if you really want to waste your time. You are getting letters...so what?! We all (old regulars) have had these letters before POPLA, what do you think people did just two years ago on this forum, before POPLA existed as an option?PRIVATE 'PCN'?
