Plus Net

Does anyone have any experience with Plus Net? We currently have Infinity 2 Broadband and Line Rental with BT, but don't need fibre anymore. We just need Line Rental and a basic ADSL unlimited broadband package. Ideally would like to move to Sky as it seems we may be able to get free broadband for a year, however Plus Net looks like a better deal with the £150 quidco cash back. Just wondering what their customer service is like etc?

Had Plusnet for three years and happy with service. I have lost my internet connection a couple of times but customer services always respond and talk you through a process you follow on your computer/laptop and within minutes you are up and running again. My telephone and internet plus anytime calls was £25 and going up to 27.50 at the end of the month. I have recently received letter saying I could pay £155 upfront for years telephone connection. I telephoned them as there are good offers on Sky and Talk Talk. The £155 up front went down to £135, broadband down to £2.50 and anytime telephone calls £5, so now will be paying £18.50 a month from now on.

  • Their customer service gone downhill a bit. It's to do with bringing in their new call centre and i think it haven't gone very smoothly. However they are UK call centres!!!!

Openreach have always been a nightmare, it would no suprised me if they are responsible for 50% or more of the problems which results in waiting times when calling them.

However the service itself have proven to be very reliable.

I recomend using email to contact them if possible. Be detailed as much as you can to avoid yo yos between them and yourself.

    They don't do e-mail correspondence.
Contact is via their "ticketing" system, telephone, forum or post.
The CS problems are due to too many customers because of the very low introductory offers, and insufficient staff to deal with the extra influx of customers.
Yes, many of the problems are down to BT Openreach though.
I've been with them for over two years now after transferring from Madasafish (same company, different name!). Other than a billing problem late last year which was soon sorted out, thank goodness for the U.K. based C.S. and their members' forum, I've had no trouble whatsoever with my broadband and 'phone service.

Thanks for your replies. Went with Sky in the end. They offered me free broadband and half price line rental for 12 months, so wasn't much difference in the cost!
