What does the letter say?
What happened 10 years ago?
Forgive me if I'm confused.......💙💛 💔0 -
Also intrigued to know what transgression the OP believes may have brought about this action.
I have a Sainsbury's Gold CC which gets very little use these days.0 -
yes, tell us more. and never had a gold card of any kind...retro;)0

im onto black ones nowDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

4 posts in 6 years... I expect we will get an update in 20170

Basically been paying off all CC bills on time for last 6-7 years. Before than was trying to consolidate balances and must have missed a few payments. But ever since all payments made on time. Suddenly Sainsburys send letter they will cancel CC and wont give explanation. Might affect ppl across the board. They dont care about current track record. you cant change the past but you can change future which is what i was trying to do. Ridiculous
make that 5 posts in 6 years0 -
They are also stopping BGC credit slips for accounts - not sure if this affects cards so all credit transactions will have to be done by post.0

I find it hard to believe that missed payments 10 years ago would have cause Sainsbury's to close your account now, for a start they will have known about the missed payments for as long as you've had the card. And missed payments 10 years ago won't be reported at the CRAs now anyway.
The fact that you now say they won't explain the closure suggests that you've jumped to an incorrect conclusion and that something else in your conduct of this account or elsewhere in your finances has caused them to make a swift decision that you're not a customer they want.
I would be checking my credit records to see if something has appeared recently to cause this.0 -

Hmmm...Suddenly Sainsburys send letter they will cancel CC and wont give explanation.
So you don't actually know why it was then. The rest looks like conjecture and scaremongering.0
