Covent Garden FX and Bestforeignexchange.com

Myself and the mrs got on holiday next friday to spain.
I wanted to get the money done this week but the mrs doesn't get paid till Monday (we fly friday.)
I've been looking on travelmoneymax and it says I can get the best rate with covent garden fx or bestforeignexchange.com ?
I just wanted to know has anyone from here used this website? Wanted to get £1400 swapped (700 each) and i see they all want faster payments..which my bank Halifax runs. I just wanted to know if anyone on here has dealt with them and can tell me what either are like?

I haven't used bestforeignexchange online but if it helps I always use them to collect my currency in person. I've been to three of their shops, they're a legit business and are busy, busy, busy in the city, they seem to be well trusted.

I haven't used Coven Garden fx, so can't comment on them.

Does it have to be online or could you collect yourself?

May I remind you that we are now in the 21st century?

If you are in London, just pop into a Metro Bank with your passport etc. You'll walk out with their no fee debit card within an hour.
Then you are not running around with £1400 in cash and you'll get a better exchange via the ATM and purchases, than you'll get from any Bureau de Change.
Currently 1.251766 to the Pound.

Hi I didn't want to get the money on the card due to the withdrawal fees and my partner wants to just get cash.more over I found with the no fee cards like ukash you always have the annonying 1 euro left over that you can't use and where we are going doesn't many ATM points near us. More over I don't know where I can get a decent rate one outside of London as I live near sheffield meadowhall
I don't live in London or I would go and pick the money up from either company. I just wanted to know what the online service was like

That's why the person above recommended a fee-free debit card. Much more secure than taking cash, and you'll get a better exchange rate.

Outside of London though where I live I haven't found any ATM cards that don't charge withdrawal fees and are better than taking cash because of the rate. All the cards I have seen have the same rate as cash.

Kalixa Pay charges a flat rate of £2.25. So if you take out the max of 370€. That is less than 0.8% off the Mastercard rate. Currently €1.25177, so an overall rate of around €1.242
Your purchases will be at the full Mastercard rate.

You can use this card worldwide.

Nothing wrong with cash if you can get a good rate. But always have a Plan B

Tbf I might just get cash!

One is £500 per month and the other is £750. Can be shuffled in and out within a day or two. How does that translate to....

I wasn't suggesting that you get one of the above for this trip. Just letting you know what is available.
With Ukash, you've committed your money to a foreign currency. With Kalixa, your money stays in Pounds until you use it.

Thanks nifty. I understand what your saying but ideally my thread was about if anyone used these sites. For my next trip I may well use and apply for one of those cards,but as of now I wouldnt be able to get one in 4 days so it'd be a no for me. I need a money option that will arrive next day

No one here is going to guarantee that your cash will arrive the next day....unless they work for said company.
