Got to admit I have an irrational dislike of Tunbridge Wells, and I'm not keen on flats. Maybe it's the stereotype of 'disgusted of Tunbridge Wells' which had more than a ring of truth about it when I worked briefly in retail in the town. Maybe it's the sprawling town centre without a centre. In reality it's probably a great town with great shops and social life. Just something about the place. But keep it on your list.

Is it meant to be very poncy?:D I have lived in very shady areas of London as well as working in Kings Cross when it used to be very scary, think of seeing pimps holding stun guns in broad daylight on the street etc... I don't really mind if an area is a bit up itself as I want to live somewhere safe and middle class for once.:)

I'm not keen on flats either honestly but I was just thinking about being under the stamp duty threshold.

I tried to move to TW once - loved it :D It had a slight alternative edge to it too, not as people like to imagine.

Really loved the houses. Lots of Victorian cottages to be found at reasonable prices. High Brooms side of town not so nice.

Would move there like a shot if it wasn't south of the river lol! (I love it south, but the Blackwall Tunnel closures/queues were the end for me as pretty much all my friends and family were north of the river. I lived south for around 15 years.)
