Standard clause no holes for picture hanging etc, solution?

I'm moving soon and my contract has the stand no holes in wall/hanging mirros/frames etc clause.
I'm not too worried about my mirror (though an annoyance) as it's full length it can lean against the wall. Does anyone have any solutions for picture hanging? I have quite a lot of art and although it's not essential to hang, it would be good if I could find a hole-free solution.
I've heard of the command strips, does anyone have any experience of these? I really don't want to cause any damage to the paint.
Suggestions welcome!

Historically I've always just asked the landlord if I can hang stuff on the agreement that I make good and redecorate before I leave. Nobody's every had a problem with that. Few quid in paint saves a lot of hassle trying to find other solutions...0

all the various "wonder" glue solutions to nail free hanging are only as strong as the bond between the paint and the plaster so no there is no easy solution
you can do just as much "damage" removing a wad of paint when taking down the hook as you can by leaving a nail hole0 -
What makes you think such a clause is standard? Mine specifically allows holes to be made for the purpose of hanging pictures as long as proper picture hooks are used.0

I've never even asked permission, just put up pictures then make good the damage before leaving. I've never had a problem.0

I've used the command strips to hand pictures before and they worked perfectly... No marks left after removing them either. Just make sure you get the right ones for the weight you are asking them to hold.
We use them at the moment for hooks to hold curtain tiebacks. Again, they are working really well.0 -
As already said lots of LAs use 'standard' forms for their tenancy agreement - doesn't mean that they can't be varied in some respects.
Just ask the LA if you can use picture hooks and make good at end of tenancy.
Make sure you keep a copy of their agreement for you to do this and any other conditions they set.0 -
Does the property already have picture hooks up that you could use? Otherwise ask to put some in, saying you'll do it properly or make good after, or do so anyway but do a really good job of making good.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

When I moved in to my last rented house the LA asked if I wanted to hang pictures or not - as I did, they then added the clause to the contract to say that I could hang them as long as I used proper picture hooks.
The contract didn't say that I needed to make the holes good at the end of the lease, however as the walls were all standard magnolia I found that by filling the holes (wipe any excess with a damp cloth), then dotting the filler with a tiny blob of magnolia match pot paint on the end of an artists paint brush, you literally could not see a single one of the holes. It might not work so well with another colour as you would be unlikely to get the match, however lots of rental properties are painted magnolia.0 -
We have found the Command strips to be very good. Just follow the instruction regarding size of strip, weight and dimensions of object to be hung and they're fine. I just had to get over myself and trust them! There is a huge array of strips and hooks, getting the right one is essential, take a look on EBay to see how many there are.0

Thanks for the advice everyone, I've not got the keys yet but I'm pretty sure there will be no hooks. It's just been refurbed and they've said no hooks (or anything to stick something to the wall). I am assuming the command strips are out of the question too but if they cause no damage then I might give them a go.
Thanks for feedback on them!0
