Don't forget if you watch Tv using a freeview digibox that from today they're adding more channels and you'll need to retune.

Yes, I saw the blurb and wondered. What new channels?
Some are rearranged and temporarily (I assume) duplicated but I'm finding it difficult to identify new channels since the weekend.
I wonder what delights are in store.0 -

some were shuffled about and there is a few that may or may not be developed { at a later stage } while CBS Action Placeholder first appeared 28/08/2014 its likely that most people would not have spotted it.
26 ITVBe - will go live 8th October 2014
90 CBS Action - will go live 1st October 2014
except CBS Action will move to 70 { CBBC was using that channel before }
there may be more that gets added near the end of the year - I just hope they are not more shopping channels.0 -
It's like Microsoft Windows Update. There is no end to the re-tuning.
I have a pre-HD Sony TV, and I'm wondering when it's going to be obsolete one of these days. Compression technology must be advancing, and one of these days they are going to say they can pack a lot more channels in if they just declare first generation Freeview set obsolete.0 -

..of course,they have effectively already done that when they moved from 2k mode to 8k mode in 2008(?) -some older digital boxes and sets stopped being capable of receiving any Freeview transmissions -I had two old Ondigitlal boxes which instantly became scrap whilst others had to buy external boxes for their first generation "digital" TVs. If they ever go 100% "HD" then all the "old" Freeview SD boxes/sets would be useless.0 -
