European Travel Insurance?

Looking at going abroad next year. Can someone please recommend any disabled friendly travel insurers please? I've looked at Fish so far. Not too sure about any other companies.
Also, am I expected to declare every medical condition I have? Some of them shouldn't cause any problems.

Hi Indie, not sure if it's still the same but I used to get travel insurance through More Than. They were the only one that i could find that didn't load the premium as soon as I mentioned diabetes!
I think the only medical info you need to give them is something that may mean you need to be hospitalised or flown home as an emergency.
From what I remember reading about your condition(s) I think you should be ok with most of them altho I would mention your sight and anything else you think is relevant.0 -
Sorry, forgot to say, take a look at Age UK (I know you're in your 20's but it might give you an insight) and see who they recommend! Good luck. Su0

Thanks.

I did look on moneysupermarket. But it seems that because I'm undergoing investigation, I can't get any quotes.

What a nightmare. Are you a member of any association or group connected to any of your conditions? Some of them may have agreements with insurers. I know the diabetes associations do although they're quite a bit more expensive than More Than were. Hope you can get it sorted x0

I posted this on another thread elsewhere on here. No limits were mentioned and they declined me. They did, however, mention http://www.goodtogoinsurance.com/?source=webgains&siteid=54264
Anyone got any experience of Good to Go, please? I did put a quote in and did get accepted.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

an EHIC card will give you some cover within the eu,tbh i a don't bother with anything else as with all my problems the insurance would be as expensive as the holiday0

EHIC doesn't cover everything from what I understand.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I have previously used a company called Freedom Insurance who are based in Cambridge. They were very helpful to me. Can't give you email or web address but am sure you can search them. I have no links with company beyond the fact they insured me and a friend for reasonable price & good cover when we were having trouble getting travel insurance.0

I declare everything, ever since I read about Parva going to the GP with a sore leg then his leg breaking to pieces on a flume on holiday and it turning out to be cancer I'm a bit paranoid.
Also with me I can't afford for an insurer to turn round and say "that's related to x condition that you didn't declare so we aren't paying out".
I arrange insurance through Medicalert, I'm £110 a year for worldwide cover (EU only is cheaper) and that's reasonable given that I'm post transplant with additional medical conditions.
ETA for me it was cheaper to buy for a year than for a single trip.0 -
It may sound bizarre, but consider Tesco. They were the cheapest when we wanted cover to go France (three members of the family with Osteogenesis Imperfecta) and as my husband dislocated his shoulder/broke his neck/suffered paralysis whilst out there, we tested them very comprehensively! They covered everything not covered by the EHIC card including emergency helicopter, two operations, extensive hospital stay and being medi-vac'd home. They also paid for me and four children to fly home (we'd driven out). They were also very human and caring on the phone and initially rang me every two hours to check on me. Can't recommend them enough.
I would also include everything. It's sods law that the one thing you think won't be an issue will turn out to be a problem.0
