Do you just have a few current accounts and choose one to 'do the switch' even though it's not your main one?
Thanks
Exactly! :-)0 -
Great! I have an 'old' TSB account I was using for the interest, think it just nominated itself

Is there a thread on here that discusses this sort of stuff?0 -
Is that a "TSB Classic Plus"? It would seem to be a shame to close it and lose the 5% interest rate (on up to £2000)laughingboy wrote: »Great! I have an 'old' TSB account I was using for the interest, think it just nominated itself

There are people here with numbers of current accounts running into double figures. Doesn't often seem to cause any problems. Certainly less hassle than getting a new credit card. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

No it's a Classic Enhance, I had all these accounts (about 9 - probably not very many for around these parts!) for a house deposit - which I don't have now so I have a fair few unused accounts.
So I could 'transfer' one of my old accounts to M&S for the vouchers, despite it not being my main account? If so I can't believe I've missed this before!0 -

Then get switching, as there's not just M&S's offer. You can get £100 cash (rather than vouchers) for switching to First Direct, Halifax or Co-op for instance. First Direct will give you another £100 if you switch away again after 6 months. Some of these do have direct debit requirements though.0 -
None of those you mention have any requirement for DDs to be switched for their £100 switching incentives. Then get switching, as there's not just M&S's offer. Co-Op Bank does.
They don't, actually. You'll need to switch at least 2 Direct Debits or standing orders

Thanks for this, it seems my procrastinating has paid off!
Edit: No it hasn't. I phoned to switch this morning, It's only £125 if you apply for the account after the promotion started, not when you start the switching process.
Strange phone call, gave my name and the american operator said "thats a lovely name, you sound like a handsome fellow". I didn't quite know what to make of that!*Assuming you're in England or Wales.0
