  • Do as G_M says - consult a structural engineer.

    Not the Estate Agent, who is working for the seller.

    Errrrr.... but you said in post above "offered to have a structural survey performed".

    This is normally done by a Surveyor, not a Structural Engineer (despite the confusing use of the word 'structural').

    To be clear - you need a Structural Engineer, not a (chartered) surveyor.

    A structural survey dne by a surveyor will say:

    "It is unclear whether the removal of the wall was underataken with adequate support for the weight above, and we recommend instructing a Structural Engineer to understake a report"
