First appeal, after receiving NTK

I've had a look at the threads already posted here.. and I think I know what to do next, but just wanted to post for some advice and to be sure.
We received a ticket in a car park that is free on sundays (on a sunday). We hadn't displayed a ticket, but as it was free we didn't think we needed to (stupid perhaps, but it wasn't clear to get a ticket on the signs, which we had checked)
We've waited for the NTK to come, and it came around a week ago. Am I right in thinking we now should appeal directly to the company via the address they give, asking for a POPLA code if rejected?
I'm not sure on what to put in the appeal? They tell me i am required to tell them who the driver was, but I'm inclined not to believe them and to keep that information back. I'm sure I read that was the best thing to do.
We took photos of the signage at the time, do we include photos in our first appeal?

do not tell them who the driver was or is, there is no requirement to do so
read the NEWBIES sticky thread at the top of the forum, it also includes the template letter to send, so no idea why you have no idea what to write as its all in the letter in post #1
no need to ask for popla (how do you know it is popla ?), just use the template "as is"
you could use pictures as evidence if you wish to do so, but I doubt it will help as they would not issue a ticket unless they think its valid , plus you did not say if the pcn was for not paying a parking fee
perhaps you could use tinypic or photobucket to link us to pictures of the signage, so we can check them for ourselves, use a hxxp weblink to them as you are a newbie here0 -
No you do not have to name driver.
Put in appeal as per the newbie thread (see my signature)
It will probably get rejects but you will go on to POPLA and winNewbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Click on words Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Newbie thread is the first post. Blue New Thread button is just above it to left.0 -
the PPC was not named so nobody on here has any idea if this goes to popla or the IAS or even if the PPC is a member of either trade body (the less info given, the worse the advice we may give , lol)0

As an aside; Is it worth a complaint to the BPA if they are trying to imply the driver must be named?0

I had read the newbie thread, but read it late last night so must've missed the template, or forgotten I'd seen it, sorry. Just reading over it again.
The company is parking control management. The original ticket was left on our windscreen in a pay and display car park, but as I said It was on a sunday which was stated as free.0 -
so it is an IPC member, no point asking for a popla code then, lol (its IAS)
no point complaining to the BPA either !
post up the signage pics please
and reading this ongoing saga may also enlighten you

What does being an IPC member mean?
hopefully you can view this.

google it, or read the newbies thread again, its a similar organisation to the BPA, but separate , your ppc is a member of the IPC (who have a website,) , not the BPA (who also have a website) - all organisations like this have websites, easily seen in google search
you need to wise up fast, sorry to say
the template letter mentions popla and IAS, alter it to just the IAS (no mention of popla as its not relevant)
copy the tinypic weblink onto here in your reply
then change http to hxxp
