New call :(

Hi guys and gals ...
After a bit of advice regarding New Call if you would all be so kind...
long story short ...
Had a New Call rep knock (May of this year) on the door and explain about their package
Agreed to join up
On the day.... talking to installer he told us that service would not be what agent had told us.
Phoned them ...to upgrade the package
Was then told new prices ...it would of worked out more than what we were already paying.
So decided not to join them....told no problem.
Have since had a letter from them for an outstanding balance of £59:00.
Got through to them and explained why we didn't join them and
was told it was for engineers call out and for cancelling ... and as we had cancelled on the day and not given 72 hrs notice to cancel the engineer the fee was for that.
Asked to speak to a manager and was told to email any complaints and if we spoke to a manager then that is what they would tell us.
Would you pay ?
Should we pay ?
And can they make us ???

You should obviously only pay if you owe it.

If you do owe it they will chase you and enforce payment ultimately by way of a CCJ (Though if you let it get that far it will be a lot more than £59.

So if you do owe it then pay up and move on.

You cancelled after the engineer called so you owe the call out charge .

Its the rep who misinformed you at the door and that rep may not work for New Call .

Pay up and write with pen and paper a letter of complaint to head office .
