I doubt it's no coincidence that yours has developed a fault, they've been reduced to £100 and MC are no longer stocking them.

Why? Newer models of everything are constantly produced. This is turn lowers the price of older models and means retailers stop stocking them because people always want the latest and greatest. It's also entirely possible that M&S now don't deal with this manufacturer/supplier, or that the seat hasn't sold well enough for them to justify restocking it.

If there hasn't been a recall on this seat (easily for the OP to check using Google or the manufacturers site) then I don't see what basis you have for thinking ALL the seats of this particular model are faulty.
  • If you take the refund they have to give you what you paid.

Take the money and buy one somewhere else.

It isn't worth chancing any uncertainty with your child's safety

On what basis? They are entitled to adjust the refund for use in the 6 months, now the question would be if they base the reduction off the purchase price or the current market price.

The OP should be careful with what they ask for, whilst there is nothing stopping them from asking the retailer might take exception and make things difficult for the OP

Which seat is it? Is it the xpedior ?Does it have the British or the European standard?
Is it a safety issue or a cosmetic issue?
Safety or cosmetic issue? Huh? Surely you either have safety or both and not one or the other...

    Huh.
Don't know what your talking about.
A seat cover that disintegrated would be a cosmetic issue. A faulty buckle would be a safety issue ..but I bow to your superior knowledge..

The seat's a extended rear facing seat can be used up until my son is 4 years old. I think the seat is made in Finland? I think I'm just going to go with getting a full refund and source a new rear facing seat from another retailer. I'm worried about taking the replacement if the same fault develops again then I'll have the same problem again with them.
