Ideas for something to drain oil into

Then jack the car up higher. Solved
Yep. Except that the car isn't level then, so you'll not quite get all of the old oil out. Plus it's not a good idea to be wriggling about under a car that's only supported on a jack.
I only use the cat litter tray as I had an old one kicking around that's no longer used. It's sturdy and easily big enough to hold all the oil from my car in one go. Then just pour it into the - now empty - container that the new oil came in, screw the lid on and drop it into the recycling centre next time I'm passing.0 -
Wouldn't it be lovely if sumps and oil bottles were always the same size...?Ebe_Scrooge wrote: »Then just pour it into the - now empty - container that the new oil came in0 -

Yeah, I know :-) I'm lucky that on my car the waste oil does fit into a 5-litre bottle, I know other cars take more. Having said that, I do have a collection of old empty bottles in the garage if I ever need them - much to my wife's disgust ! ( "What are you keeping all that old rubbish for ?" :rotfl:)0 -

Then put some axle stands under it0 -

Depending on the car, quite often you will get MORE out, if you leave it long enough.
But, yes, use axle stands for safety, of course.
