Reduced flights after purchase.

Hi guys.

Long time reader first time poster

As the title suggest I recently purchased flights to Miami through British Airways. The price for a return was £632 after a week the price started to drop and continually drop, as of today the exact same flights are £508.

Trying to contact BA is pretty much impossible, I've sent numerous emails for help, they either don't respond or take two weeks and not help. I finally managed to speak to someone yesterday after queuing for 30minutes on the phone and was told there's nothing they can do at all and can't price match.

So my question (as I know you guys will know) is there anything I can do? Or, as expected am I screwed as British Airways won't price match their own flights (unless within 24 hours of booking)

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

You are wasting your time - as you would know if you read through this forum. Prices do fluctuate and it's very rare for any refund guarantee to be given

The BA sale clearly started immediately after you made the purchase and as you can see the reductions are real. As others have said,there is nothing you can do

The price will go up as it gets nearer the date of the flight and the seats sell out.... would you be happy if BA charged you the extra because others are willing to pay more?

Prices go up and down all the time. You take a gamble at the point that you buy and you lock that price in for better or worse.

I'm currently looking at BA US flights, they fluctuate on a daily basis, they are cheaper now than when I first looked before the sale, but unfortunately I'm waiting on someone who may be travelling with us to make his mind up to go :undecided , it is like gambling, but on a positive note they will be extortionate just before the travel dates if not sold out

The golden rule of booking flights is book at a price you're happy with, then stop looking

The golden rule of booking flights with easyJet is keep looking and claim a voucher for the price difference if and when your flight is reduced in price.

But not when that easyJet price is a sale or promotional price.

Instead of manually checking, you can set up a Skyscanner price alert on a flight and they'll send you a daily email with an updated price.

Though worth noting the voucher is only valid for use until 6 months after issue.
