Can I ask HOW LONG would it take to see the 5,000 miles credited into my AAdvantage account? Any idea?
    Congratulations on getting approved. :)

In my experience, the cards take about a week to arrive. You need to activate them by phone or online, then spend.

I'm pretty sure the bonus doesn't appear until the first statement, which would mean another month. Then you need to wait for the miles to be transferred.

My wife and I have several points/miles cards with MBNA. Some are transferred immediately at the end of the statement month, others take a month to transfer. I'm away at the moment so can't check when AA miles are transferred but perhaps another MSEer can check.

    Good luck!

Miles are transferred at the first statement-

As soon as you get the card message them to check they have your AA number assoicated with the card-otherwise the miles don't post.
    BTW
How many miles are needed for each ticket?

If time is getting tight and the award ticket availability is getting low you could buy one and ask a friendly FT\MS'er to buy the other one for you

For some recompense of course :)
