I'm in need for 1000 AA miles. What are my options?

I want to book a domestic flight in the US for me and my wife, and we're short by 1000 miles.
The cost of purchasing 1000 miles is $60.00 ($30 for the miles plus $30 processing fees).

Is there any other way to get 1000 miles somehow without paying $60?

Thanks in advance!

do you have any hotel points kicking about you can transfer
eg 10,000 Hilton points = 1,500 AA Advantage miles
10,000 Marriott points = 2,000 AA Advantage miles

If you're not in a hurry you can get an AmEx reward card and convert your points.

I've noticed I have 11,000 miles with Virgin ... I think I can redeem them to 10,000 IHG points and then using Points.com I can exchange those 10,000 IHG points to 1,000 AA miles...

I called Virgin, they said it can take UP TO 30 days, but it usually should be done sooner ... Anyone has experience with it?

We do need it for a domestic flight we want to book in October, so we have like 1 month ... I wasn't aware AA has a credit card as well ... I have a British Airways, Virgin, Halifax (no exc. rate) and Capital1 cards ... so holding 4 cards already ... is it ok to have a 5th credit card lol? :D

If you mean an AmEx card from American Express offering Membership Rewards, AAdvantage is not a partner. However, MBNA offer the AAdvantage AmEx/Visa package with opening bonuses that would qualify if taken out in time.

No special reason why not. They'll check your record and if you fit in - earn enough, good repayment record etc - you may get the card. There's only one way to find out!

Make your first purchase quickly to get the bonus. It's only 5,000 miles, though, so you'd need another solution.

    Gotcha.
Just applied and got approved for the MNBA AAdvantage card, with like 6k limit. Hopefully the post would come soon now.

Okay, let's assume I get the card in like a week or so (it's already approved, just depending on processing & royal mail to deliver it to my address) ... so this is all done and once I have it and activate I immediately buy something at M&S or anywhere ...

Can I ask HOW LONG would it take to see the 5,000 miles credited into my AAdvantage account? Any idea?

    Thanks again.

You're right, apologies for that one. Did this change recently? I could have sworn I registered my AA account with AmEx at some point in the past.
