VCS parking ticket at the gym.

Hello everyone, I'm completely new to this, so bear with me. My case is similar to wiganwuk's: parked at the same gym and got fined for not registering the plate at the entrance. The fact is i did the first time after the infamous ANPR was installed, bu assumed that this should only be made ONCE since nowhere in the signage in and outside the gym states that registering should be made EACH TIME you arrive, I've got pictures of that. My problem is that before reading how to appeal in the first instance, i rushed into it because of the stress that it was causing me and i sort of give away i was the driver in my first appeal. I'm not the RK, so the actual ticket was sent to my wife. My appeal was rejected, and a POPLA number was sent with it, but the the surname in the letter was wrong, so thought this could play in my advantage. I'll use the appeal template for VCS in the newbies thread. If anyone could help me with this one it would be great. Thanks.

The fact the details are wrong should help you but won't.

You are better off using the most recent VCS appeal which I think C-M updated in post 3 of newbie thread and making sure it is sorted.

And if it is the same gym, complain in there like mad too. The more complaints they get the better.

    Depends how 'wrong' it is.

If they've put 'Jones' instead of 'Smith', that's one thing, if they've mistyped it as 'Smithh' then forget it; it will have no legs.

I wish i could show it to you guys, but that would give away too much info. The surname is composed by 2 words, no hyphen, but they only used one of them which could actually be anybody. Thank you all for the replies!

Complain, complain, complain, cancel your membership if they will not listen. Other gyms are available.

I already did, straight to the CEO of this gym but i'm yet to receive an answer. It's been a week now, so i think he's not taking my complaints seriously. I said in the letter i was prepared to take the matters to Watchdog, which i will do since he completely ignored me.

But did you tell him you will cancel your membership if you do not get a satisfactory response? And will you?

I have seen one or two similar, but where a hyphenated surname has been foreshortened to the first part of the surname only. But to be honest, there are far more easily available and winning points of appeal than trying to argue a case based on only part of a surname showing. So I'd put that to one side now.

I haven't said i was going to cancel it, because of the low cost of the membership. I guess the only way to put real pressure on him would be to get together a large number of disgruntled members, only then this matter might be taken seriously.

So if i gave away the fact that i was the driver and my appeal was rejected, how would i refer about myself in the appeal to POPLA in order to make it right? Thanks.
