I have an obsessive personality and this is freakimg me out beyond anything.
I saw the episode on infestation series on netflix concerning bird mite and it ain't looking good if I can't nail it on the first few days.
Oh no Jumblejack I am so sorry. That must be awful. You are doing all the right things. I really hope you kill the blighters off? You would think the steaming would get rid of them as it is pretty darn hot?
I have used Skoosh (now called Flee) to spray my house instead of chemical sprays. It is a Silicone spray that works by gluing fleas and or their eggs together so they don't reproduce?
You spray all carpeted areas just as you would with a chemical flea spray.
It might be worth asking the manufacturer if this would work against red mites?
I bought some as I was moving into a house that previously had a cat and the house wasn't that clean (fur balls behind the radiators ) so I sprayed all the carpeted areas just to be sure there were no fleas or eggs.
Good luck JJ, I really hope you get rid of them all xxx
p.s. Yes you are supposed to wear a mask with the DE. I hope you are ok? Maybe get see your GP if you are coughing hun. I use (food grade) DE myself and it should have said to wear a mask on the packet. x

2nd womble from yesterday.0 -
Mine were bigger than yours and I had to catch as many as I could in a pint glass, they were quite lazy/dozy when first hatched. Then rush to have my shower before anymore hatched out from where the light fittings should be.
I don't have any lights in my bathroom.
Was talking to DD2 on the phone yesterday, telling her we had lights in the new garage now and she said how can you do that before you have even got lights in the bathroom. :rotfl:
Think she is hoping she might be able to come home and have a bath at Christmas. I do have plenty of bubble bath.
But I can see what is going to happen when garage is finished inside, Mr TS will be away for couple of weeks for work and floors will not be sealed so that I can move stuff out of the bathroom into it.
Just had a thought TM, do you reckon something dropped down the plughole when you filled your bath up with glitchy stuff for the calendar pic!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:TrulyMadly wrote: »What are you thinking TS.....giraffe, antelope, sheep:rotfl::rotfl:
Years ago, I thought I had an ants nest under the kitchen floor, so when OH went to work I took the tiles up, and laid them in the garden. I found I had dead rats under my kitchen floor!!

Have a hug JJ, you are having such a stressful time. :A
How is it that JJ gets a hug and I get
1. Perhaps it's a polar bear under your floorboards.
2. Check to see if they have red eyes
3. Open all the windows and let the daddy long legs in.
4. Could be dead rats either, in the loft or under the floorboards
5. And from nerfy.....my house is scruffy
