Good Afternoon Elite :hello:
Been a bit busy but about to catch up and see what's been going on with you lovely lot
I managed to get 4 packs of the McVities Gold biscuit things for 39p each in Middleton Toscos yesterday. The sel was marked at 39p but none on the shelves - I noticed 2 full boxes on the shelf way up top and had hubby drag one down for me. Filled the biccy tin
Hope not too many pages to get through0 -

yellowbird wrote: »opinions please. 4 weeks ago I found £100 in an ATM machine directly outside a Tesco. I waited 15 mins then had to get back to work so I handed it in at the customer service in Tesco. they gave me a receipt and advised me to call in, saying that after 28 days and if it remained unclaimed then I could claim it.
I was really hopeful that this would be claimed by rightful owner as it is such a large sum of money to lose.
anyway after calling in frequently time passed. on Wednesday I called in to Tesco and asked had it been claimed. no. can I claim it? no. why? cos 28 days is not 4 weeks or a calendar month (same customer service person who advised me to claim!) anyway its not February, if it was I could claim she said. after lengthy discussion she checked with "upstairs", no I could not claim until 6 weeks. I left.
( in addition the security guard told me to be very careful as atm as camera and I maybe accused of stealing.)
role on to today. thought customer service did not know what she was talking about so went back in. only to be advised it is now 3 months wait. I told them to make there minds up 28 days, one month, 6 weeks,. now 3 months. here is the cruncher. AFTER 3 MONTHS IF NOT CLAIMED THEY DONATE IT TO THERE CHARITY OF CHOICE!
I have rang head office (useless) he said it is 6 weeks but it is up to store if they give it to me or donate to charity.
my plan is to wait 6 weeks and try again. what do you think, advise
Pretty sure that T would be breaking the law by holding onto the money for any amount of time, just as you would unless you had taken steps to trace the owner which would be simply done by contacting the relevant bank.
The legal stance is that it should be reported to the police and if not reported lost/claimed after 28days then you have the right to claim it.0 -

yellowbird wrote: »thanks for the reply. I have not looked at the receipt in detail, but it was the same customer service person who told me 28 day then tried to educate me as to what that meant i.e 4 weeks or one calendar month, and apparently the month we were in made a difference.
as for donating to charity, that is up to me ( I am going to mcmillen coffee morning 27th September) she said today it was Tesco policy to donate when unclaimed. so why give me a receipt at all? why not tell me that when I gave it in? they make you feel like a criminal.
im all for donating to charity, but to whom and how much should me my choice. not theirs/
A couple months ago I found £10 in the tesco cash machine and handed it in to tesco and like you went I asked if anyone had claimed they said no and that they had put it to the diabetic charity :cool:One cannot change the past, but one can ruin the present by worrying over the future.0 -
