Evangeline1971 wrote: »Hello everyone
Did you know that if you stroke someones bare skin while they're touching an ipad you can feel vibrations through your fingers. It's such a strange sensation :rotfl: It works if you stroke their back or arm but not the leg.
Edit I think they have to have their feet on the ground
Evangeline, I'm saying this as a parent of a child with ASD. Have you considered that you might have sensory issues as part of your condition? It's very common and something you might look into
......that's if you've not gone to bed already because of your stroking0 -

I just want to move in but as he is male he does not understand that I strongly believe that as he has started it, he should have finished it!:D:D:D:D
I have walls and ceiling, first fix of electrics complete so wires dangling. Doors all in including the garage door. It does look good from the outside. But still quite a bit to do inside, they seem to slow down when it starts to get exciting.0 -
rhosynbach wrote: »thanks so much for posting this was on old mobile by then so could not reply as it is really rubish, I phoned them back and they said someone will be here very soon, infact it only took them half an hour, as they were in a local village,
ds2 had already got a knives, crate , gloves and a blanket ready as to your advice but they were not needed:)
we showed them the net and they cut the birds out some were ok and released but 2 were took away.but should be ok..
they were not cormorants but Ynys bach Shags, from the next village , which are a group that nest a month before any other shags in the uk and have apeared on several wildlife programmes. ds2 was very unhappy as we go and watch them while nesting ,,
net still there, apparently they can not remove it as they are not sure if it is illegal they are taking further advice,,:mad: so the same thing may happen again:(
Well done for helping to rescue the birds. I hope the two they had to take away will be ok?
I'm glad the RSPCA weren't too far away. We only have 3 inspectors for a massive area near me, so I sometimes get the RSPCA calling me to go catch swans in my region as I am a volunteer for swan rescue.
I don't know how old your boys are Rhosynbachand and if they walk or drive to the beach? If the nets are left longterm (I hope they aren't!) it might be worth them keeping a little rescue kit of a pair of gloves, blanket, crate or even a collapsed carboard box in their vehicle incase of any future wildlife casualties?
Please tell your boys well done from me. :T When a wild animal is injured timing is critical as they can often die of stress (even if their physical injuries aren't that bad) so they did well to report the trapped birds to you. That swift action almost certainly saved those birds. x"I expect to pass through this world but once. Constitutionally that will be the only way to be both. It's not often I disagree with you Savvy, but I do on this. That's ok.....we can disagree
As someone who has spent most of their career working for the government in this country, I'd strongly disagree that we have no weight on the world stage. We do, in so many different areas. For our size we have a phenomenal defence service, we have some of the best free health care and research anywhere on the planet, we have a justice system that puts the majority of the world to shame. None of that is perfect by any means.....but if you look at the positives of it......we're not too shabby as we are
I didn't mean to suggest we have *no* weight at all on the world stage, opposite of "any" is not always completely "no";). Bit like 0.9999999... recurring is exactly equal to 1, even though it does not appear to be. I do think Britain is a much declined/declining force - and maybe two parts will create interest and in fact have two voices at a table instead of one, and often in agreement. I think Europe has more weight - but that's getting into a whole new argument. (Alright, I was not as careful as I should have been - I should have said something like Britain's imagination that it has much influence... or has a deal (or a great deal) of influence...something like that.)
Technically we also have European citizenship since the Maastricht Treaty (yes, some of my politics is that outdated:o:D) but do any of us see it that way? (I once put "European" and "British" on a form and was perceived as being rather strange - but, that, legally, politically, following Maastricht, was the true position.)
What if I want to be English (or even European and not English, or English and European)? Why is being British forced onto me? Again, I feel there is a lot of sentimentality here - or, rather, "sentimental attachment" - and me saying this will doubtless infuriate as it strikes at the heart of the emotion. But, it does press at those emotional concepts such as people's own identity and what they perceive themselves to be.
No is not unpatriotic. But neither is yes and taking control (of most things, that can politically be offered, e.g. the "sentimental" pound not being one of those things:rotfl:) for yourself.
I am being provocative a little, btw, in my last parenthesised part (about the pound).0 -

I know, it is so frustrating. My OH likens it to my diet/exercise plan
You know the day, I get up and decide I will be on a diet and even have a little jog.. only to return home and realise I am still as fat as I was when I woke up!:o:o

I do think this vote has brought politics to a much wider audience. It will be really interesting to see if the percentage of people voting in the next general election goes up significantly or not.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
