They can hide in my new self contained garage if they bring down some of that Edinburgh Rock.If not we'll have to think of something else to pass through “Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

I actually think both sides are representing their respective objectives just as expected. Politics isn't a clean and fair game and it never will be.
I haven't lived in Scotland for a number of years now. When I did, this issue was always rumbling on in the background. Always in the media.....much of which undoubtedly never reached people south of the border, and since I can remember......with the same man as the driving force behind it. What we are all seeing now is just the tail end of a much longer story. Where you live, what you're experiences are and how long you've followed this will colour your view.
In my view, Mr Salmond and the very irritating Ms Sturgeon are a pair of glory hunters who have been chasing a personal dream for so long, it's not about the bigger picture for them anymore.
Just my opinion
Well, if it's rumbling in the background, why not solve it for all? Independence would - I don't think a 'no' vote would extinguish the rumblings which would still continue periodically.
Oh:) (expression of surprise). I didn't think Ms Sturgeon was irritating at all. In fact, someone on the 'No' side was being broadcast on the News earlier today - and I'm glad they then broadcast Ms Sturgeon - she took the words out of my mouth as to what I had been shouting (with no effect:D) at the television! And I've never been an SNP supporter or anything, though I suspect that is because I am from England. I think I just move around, depending on what my views on different issues are. And:ousually I'm a dithering, indecisive person, can see all sides - I can here but...for once I've made a decision!:T At last - Savvy not sitting on the fence (I think that's partly why some people thanked my post yesterday).
I certainly wouldn't have called them 'glory hunters' - there won't be much glory at all for them if the result is "No".
We agree to disagree there.
But -
You can be Scottish and British. You can be English (or Welsh or Northern Irish) and British. But, is anyone Scottish (or English etc.) and United King-ish?
(I think I'm trying to get at "The British Isles", as in the geographical area of the island that includes Scotland, England and Wales, will still exist - and you could argue that the "British Isles" covers the whole of Ireland as well. ("British Islands" includes Channel Islands and Isle of Man etc.) As regards "Britishness" though, to be fair the "British Empire" is long dead and "Britain" continues desperately clinging on to its own imagination that it punches any weight on the world stage. You can still be a "Brit" regardless of what independent countries exist within it.)0 -

the icing has to be shiny on the empire biscuits though
Oh I do love a good empire biscuit. Has to have a half a cherry on top too:rotfl: although my OH tends to disagree, he likes the jelly tot type ones!

Watching the great debate. Curious really as know little on either side.
What I can say though is Vivienne Westwood is rocking her conker necklace:)
Hope everyone is well.
First art class of new term. Realise I could have done so much more over the summer break.
Popped into mr t after. No small yoomoo pots but the large 500ml ones were £2 and I was allowed to use coupon. Sad I didn't get to have overage but a far better option for me as really like this product.
Quick happy scan as mum was with me but sadly no Sharpies.
