Its brilliant isn't it. I don't mind saying that when i heard about the fire I wept and wept and then watching the donations totals rise and rise i wept more. My 2 small yorkies sleep on my bed and last night i made them sleep right beside me and hugged and hugged them

Its just horrid, already with no homes. I dont have a dog I did when I was wee, but yes I got an extra cuddle from the Ginge before I left.

I think I do too, it know he has annoyed everyone but given his age I think he has had a lot to put up with, all giving him a hard time!

Well, this evening mission has been accomplished... I've painted the shed wall and the wall where the new greenhouse is going :T

The rest of the wall is gonna be done tomorrow and the other two walls of the shed in the next few weeks, once I've done the fence panels

Talk about snowball effect- we were only ever supposed to paint the wooden base for the greenhouse :o

This was me last night I couldn't stop crying and Poppy went to sleep in my arms snuggled up to me.

Mum rang me this morning to check I hadn't rang and asked for another dog. I would have done but I know Poppy wouldn't accept another.

I understand what you mean but it's wrong. The SNP are not the only party for independence. However the main point is that it doesn't happen immediately and there is agreement for negotiations to be done by 2016 which is the same year as the Holyrood election so in reality it'd be Labour that ran the first 4/5 years as i expect the Labour dominance or at least a coalition to return in Scotland next time.

Some interesting stuff over here re independence..

I'm not sure either with shops etc, but I guess it may have something to do with distribution costs among others? I'm sure they'll be working the logistics out.

I can on the other hand see where the likes of Royal Mail are coming from when they say the costs of postage may go up higher in Scotland. Currently even now it's been privatized, they have a duty to provide a universal postal service at the same rate through out the UK. The costs are naturally higher delivering to rural areas etc but the whole of the UK subsidies those area's through the cost of postage.

If Scotland becomes independent than as a private company RM could chose to operate in Scotland (maybe under a different name) but they won't be under an obligation to charge the same rates as they do in the rest of the UK. The rules they operate under only cover the UK. Given much of Scotland is quite rural and distant if you include places like the surrounding isles then it's quite logical postage will have to go up in cost to pay for the service or have a lesser service. After all an independent Scotland can't expect the people left in the rest of the union to continue to help subsidized the costs of delivery in Scotland. They will have to have their own postal service with associated costs of setting that up, with stamps and everything.
