I agree it is horrendous, but I struggle to believe a lot of what is in the papers and would question the cause (as well as blaming the parents for not providing appropriate care).100 -

While I condemn their neglect, I would suggest that the paper is stretching the truth more than a little.
It is unlikely that the parents could have done anything to prevent the cataract from starting, and once it's there it will continue to get worse until surgery. The article says the boy has Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. JRA will almost certainly have caused the eye inflammation uveitis which necessitates steroid eye drops, which in combination with the uveitis will have in turn caused the cataract.
Having suffered from the uveitis- steroids-cataract myself, I know there is nothing which can stop one forming, and once formed make it get better without surgery.
It's only a game

I do indeed! It's rather annoying though when they offer something yet when you take them up n the offer they don't like it. I was kept at a till for 40 minutes and made to feel awful. Whilst they ran round getting the world and his wife to come and check it. It was only £7.00 too and I had the original receipt which had not been used in asda either0 -
