Cheap flights to New York....

Looking to book flights to NYC from Manchester for next year - Sep/Oct time.

Does anyone have any advice on where to find the best deal to do this?

Comments

  • Use Skyscanner to identify potentially cheap fares, using the "whole month" option. Start looking at the end of October this year. Don't rush in to buy until you're under £450pp. Don't book with the agents on Skyscanner, go direct to the airline. Booking accommodation with your airline can also reduce flight costs compared to booking separately.

Be flexible, such as being prepared to connect from Manchester to Heathrow. Or fly one leg to / from Philadelphia. Or even go EasyJet to Reykjavik and fly onto NYC from there. Can't beat a couple of days in Iceland!

Far too early to be booking, indeed the flights won't be available yet, but look at the BA/VS sale after Christmas which normally is the best sale, check fares now for this year as there is a BA sale on at the moment to give you an idea of the likely fares. If you want 'dirt cheap' look at Kuwait Airlines who fly three times a week, but don't look at the reviews or try Norwegian from Gatwick, some decent fares some of the time

You might be able to save a few pounds by taking a budget airline to Dublin or Amsterdam to avoid the APD tax and then fly to NYC from there but only you can decide if it worth the extra travel time and hassle.

Don't think that's going to work, they'll chase you for the money for the taxes eventually.
