Do you have to have a phone line installed to get broadband in your home?

Yes. Unless you have virgin cable internet, then you don't have to have a phone line. However I read that it doesn't work out any cheaper if you do that.0

However, mobile broadband is rarely an adequate alternative to landline-based ADSL broadband. It depends what you need to do with your broadband in term of speed and volume of data.
And mobile broadband is of course dependent on an adequate 3G signal at the property on your favoured network.No free lunch, and no free laptop
