I been with Three for years now, they used to offer decent retention offers at the end of contracts for renewals.

When I call them yesterday to ask for PAC code, lady offered me same deal as on the website and no interest to offer a discount or better free upgrade. Same instore.....is this Three's new service offering or has anyone done better?

I've heard a lot of people say the same, so it does seem like they've reduced or stopped providing retention deals. Their new approach seems to be to provide the best deals all round, so that there's no need to provide retention deals. Whether they're actually succeeding at this is debatable, I suppose.
  • Looks like your right! just called three and tried to get a better deal but no look the only deals they offered where the ones on there website even after asking for a PAC code.. Been with them for 6 years so it's time for a move. Virgin sim only deal looks tempting at £15 a month
  • Three are absurdly cheap anyway, our family has gradually been moving over to Three sim only plans and buying our phones outright.

Its a great network if the coverage is ok for you.

They cannot really go any cheaper, I would be interested to know if you can find better deals elsewhere? I have the Three sim only deal with for £15/m, and if you do not got over 200 mins a month, then its a better deal than Virgins £15/m deal, as Three has unlimited data.

If you use lots of calls and text then go for Virgin and if you use lots of Data then go for 3. :)
What happens if you push this button?

... what people who were coming to the end of their all inclusive 'one plans' were being offered to stay with Three. Lots of vent being aired at their demise but little about retention offers. I was offered their £23 rolling 1 month plan for £15 which was what I was paying for unlimited everything under the one plan. This plan caps data at 4gb a month regardless of how its consumed ie directly or via tethering. I used the Giffgaff £15 Goodybag which offered slightly less data 3gb as a bargaining point. They tried to get me to switch to a 12 month 600 mins AYCE data and texts with 4gb tethering cap for £18 but I declined (I wasn't prepared to commit for 12 months for substantially less). Shame about the loss of unlimited data but hopefully better plans will become available over the coming months that I'll be free to switch to. Hope it helps others in a similar situation.

They appear to be quite determined they don't want customers to stay.
The only offers they can offer are the same as new customers get.
A busted flush now, pity they had it all

not quite - they discounted the plan I switched to from £23 to £15 to retain my custom. Granted the new plan is not as good as the 'one plan' but at least they are prepared to offer discounts to help retain customers with expiring 'one plans'.

Wife called 2 weeks ago and got this discount, I called today and got nothing. Both of us coming off 2 year one plan contracts. I'm off elsewhere

Sometimes it depends on who you get on the phone. Hang up and try again. Also, would be interested to hear what deals you get cheaper than 3
