Yes, you can try it by wrapping the egg in foil and dropping it into a small bowl/mug of water ... but I've not done that.

I've got a gadget for it - put a bit of water in, put the egg into the gadget, screw it up, nuke for 4.5 minutes on half power for a boiled egg for dipping, or 6 minutes for a hard boiled egg.

The inside of the gadget is metal, the outside plastic.

It's brilliant - I've got two ... one does one egg, the other does four.

I always boil eggs in the microwave, just find a deep microwavable dish, boil your kettle, wrap eggs in foil (make sure they are completely covered) and place them in dish, pour in enough boiling water to cover the eggs completely.

They take the same length of time as conventional cooking. I do at least 4 at a time every sunday and pop them in fridge when cold ready for when I need them.

Try halloumi cheese, sliced thinly, spread with a little harrissa paste and dry fried in a nonstick frying pan. I always think halloumi is a good vegetarian substitute for chicken.
I like it in a wholemeal pitta with homemade tatziki (the yoghurt, cucumber and fresh mint recipe I told you about a few weeks ago).

A side from the salads we have....

Warm noodle stir fry.... Drop noodles (fine) in a bowl boiling water. By the time you have chopped veg / salad and tossed in lemon and soy the noodles are soft and ready to eat.

Cheese & biscuits with nice chutney

    Hummus & flat bread

Mozzarella, tomato, fresh basil with balsamic & Virgin olive oil

    Mackerel / sardines on toast

Smoked salmon, cream cheese & brown bread

Cous cous, pesto & tin salmon( takes seconds )

Fresh pasta ( takes 3 min in boiling water) Creme fraich & pesto
