I never thought of hummus as being fattening. I make it at home with a tin of chickpeas, 2 spoons of oil, some lemon and garlic, some water and a spoon of tahini.
The problem with hummus that's just occured to me is that it contains tahini, which of course contains sesame seeds, and Tink said she can't have seeds. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

When I say can't eat seeds I mean just chewing the actual seed, can have them if they are mashed up and in something0 -

I eat salads all year round - but for some reason couscous only gets on the menu in summer. its just so easy to do instead of potatoes. you can add different flavours and eat it hot or cold.0

My OH doesn't really want to spend a lot of time cooking (I don't bake him tbh, the kitchens so hot in summer even with windows open and fan on)Raisins, chopped apricots, sundried tomatoes, grated lemon peel, olives ... not that I'm meritaten, but thought I'd chip in
Love the idea of sundried tomatoes! :drool:0 -

lol @ your typo
I can see where he's coming from on that. We sometimes don't have a roast in the summer because it's too hot for it.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I keep making carrot salad at the moment, I use dried fruit and cashews in it but you could leave the nuts out. Chopped dates or raisins are good in it and any fresh herbs like mint or coriander.
Basically, I just grate the carrots, chuck in anything else I fancy with it and make up a dressing of Dijon mustard, runny honey, a bit of ground cumin, red wine vinegar, salt and pepper and a splash of oil.
Love Jersey Royal new potatoes in the summer too - hot, cold whatever!Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame
Love is a losing game0
