opening an ISA account while unemployed (with income)

I want to open an ISA account. Do you think they will open one for me when I'm unemployed (with income)?

I'm not employed and have no problems getting them.

They are savings accounts, so as you are effectively giving them your money to look after, then I can't see why anyone would turn that away?

    Thanks for your reply.

Looks like savings is the only financial product for people who don't have to be employed...

I had no trouble getting a current account (A&L) either, though it did upset their application process. Someone rang me to ask if I'd entered the salary field incorrectly (as zero). They couldn't quite get their head around the fact that I could have an "income" without actually being employed.

    I see.

I rarely hear any people getting a current account when they are unemployed with or without income.

It's possible to have an "income" without being employed. For example, a family member or friend could put some money in for you, until you find a job.

I guess you got a current account, even though you are unemployed, because of a good credit history and score, paying things on time, etc...
