!!!!!!! Livid-unsolicited Texts
I have been receiving several text messages every day from sms.ac saying stuff like "tom (or other name) wants to chat. upload pics, etc"
I just got my mobile phone bill today and I have been charged £63.83 for them!! How can this be?? I never asked to recieve these messages. I have now text STOP and contacted o2 (who my phone is with) and they gave me the phone number for the company sending the texts and told me to get a refund off them.
But I cant get through to them!!! They wont answer the !!!!!!! phone! What can I do?? I cant afford to pay £60 for some crappy text messages I never asked for.
If anyone says I must have signed up for them and didnt read the small print, I know this wont be true, I never give my mobile number out on forms and on the internet etc so as to avoid this exact scenario!!
Has anyone else been through this and if so what did you do?

Its an old 'SCAM'. Look up reverse billed SMS.
The networks won't take responsibility for the charges and the company typically keeps sending them, making money, disputes when you eventually get in contact with them, and eventually folds up and starts under a new name!
Having said that SMS.ac has been around for ages and i think they offer some free online sms's or something when you recomend friends. This may be where they got your number from. Hey its still not legal but its down to you to chase them. Most people give up, which is what they count on.0
