debt collection

I sent a parcel last year with parcel hero. Yesterday I received a letter from a company called Judges Demand stating that I owe them £122. The letter said the original amount was £33 and because of administration fees is it now £122. It seems I underweighed the parcel when I sent it. Should I not have received letters from Parcelhero first before they passed it onto a collection company?
Any advice would be appreciated

I would have expected them to have sent you notice yes. Get in contact with Parcelhero and go from there0

I suggest you cross post this on the debt free wannabe board.0

Cross-posting is frowned on here. Maybe ask a board guide to move it if this forum isn't the correct one, which it does seem to be.0 -

The point is this IS the correct board for the thread.
Debt Free Wanna be is for people in debt issues with day to day life, not claims from debt collectors on purchases such as this.
OP
Contact parcel Hero and advise them you disagree with the situation and you need proof of the circumstances they are claiming for.
Advise them you are not paying any fees on a debt you have no prior knowledge of and that any such fees are their own to address.
Look carefully at the paperwork, see if the address for this chaser and Parcel Hero are different, it might be one and the same trying to pull a fast one...0 -
I know where it is
but this thread doesn't belong there . . . 0 -
I only suggested it because people there know all about debt, and people chasing debts that are not necessaily owed. I stand corrected if the OP can get the advice needed here too.0

If you agree you probably owe the £33, then contact the courier and ask why they have never notified you - I suspect they may agree they should have in which case pay the amount owed and respond to the debt collectors confirming this and insisting they a) return the account back to the courier; and b) remove the unreasonable charges they've attempted to impose.0
