Help - I have been charged for a 3 mobile broadband I haven't been using..

Any advice.... I have realized that I have been paying for a 3 mobile broadband dongle I haven't used for years. I thought I had cancelled it...can I get a refund at all, 3 have said their records show I haven't used it for the last year (as far as their records go), but say no refund can be given only a that they can cancel it... I have no evidence of cancelling it in the past, I think I wrote to them. Any rules/laws in my favour if i clearly have not been using the service...Any ideas or do I have to simply offer this up and monitor my subscriptions more carefully in the future...

Unfortunately not much you can do.

At the end of the day it was up to you to cancel and then confirm cancellation. Unless you have a letter back from Three stating they accepting the cancellation you can't claim the money back.

If you write to /email their head office they may give you a goodwill gesture and credit you a certain amount back. But that's not to be expected and if they do it it's because someone was feeling nice and not due to any legal obligation.

What I would do is cancel and make sure you get confirmation of cancelling.
