Newbie Help Please

I expect this has been asked many times before, but I can't find the answer, so bear with me please...

I am after an all-in package (happy to pay up front) to include the following.

Unlimited BB(old person, no film downloads etc.)

Free(or included) calls 24/7

I am and have been with BT/GPO for 35 years, but no longer feel any loyalty as their attitude towards regular customers is disappointing to say the least. Not too bothered about customer service as this doesn't seem to exist anywhere now. I would like to keep my number and prepared to dump my bt email address

Your advice please......

No films etc then why unlimited BB .

Plusnet would be my first port of call .
  • On a couple of occasions, my kids have watched tv through my computer, setting off BT alarms about usage, so I thought I would play safe...

Thank you for taking the time to reply to this old dinosaur, I will look into plusnet

Actually, unless this happened regularly, this wouldn't justify the extra cost of unlimited -especially as you don't download films etc.

Tell the kids to watch the telly on the telly! :D

I did tell them, but as I am just out of contract and have had big problems with BT mail since the split with yahoo, I thought I would ask on this highly respected forum.

As the current Plusnet deal is £2.50 a month for 12months for unlimited and they don't seem to offer any limited products I don't think that is really a consideration.

If swapping then don't forget to do it through TopCashBack or Quidco to get some cashback too. Current Topcashback for Plusnet BB + phone is £80 and ends tomorrow.

You don't have to use BT Mail loads of email suppliers out there from free to your own paid for domain .

No one includes free calls 24/7, but you can usually get included all UK geographic calls (01, 02 & 03) for a fee. I find TalkTalk Simply Broadband with Anytime UK Calls Boost to be a good deal. (£24.45 per month, inc line rental). If you make a lot of calls to mobile numbers there are boosts you can add to cover that.
  • I followed the sky £192 M&S voucher link about 10 days back, but have not been contacted by sky, so confused as to what to do next. Any ideas please?

Since broadband is exchange- specific, start with an exchange search on samknows.com for your available LLU providers.
Which, if any, are usually Sky or TT these days.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
