Best time to book Travelodge for March

I'm just looking for a wee bit of advice really about the best time to book a travelodge room for Saturday March 28th staying at Stafford Central Travelodge. There will be 2 adults and 4 children staying so I will really need to book 2 rooms so want to try and get the best price.
It shows up just now as £33 a night (so £66 for both rooms), which seems like a good price but do you think they're likely to have a big sale for March dates before then, if so I'll hold off and hopefully get a better price.
Also I know it's 4 people max in a family room but as long as I book 2 rooms will they care if we only actually use 1 of them? The 4 kids are really young so rather than me and my husband splitting into 2 different rooms we'd just let the youngest jump in with us and the other 3 can share the other 2 beds, they're only young anyway so 2 can easily share.

Difficult to say - they do seem to have fairly frequent sales, but against that:
you are getting close to Easter
If they do have a sale and that hotel is in it the reduction won't be all that much - ?£29 maybe0 -
Yeah I think you're right really, I'll just go ahead and book it. No point me waiting for a few quid off if I might end up paying a lot more, just didn't want to book and it turned out they have a big sale lined up next week or something. Thanks for the advice.0

Well as luck would have it they have just launched a short sale - but not for rooms as far ahead as you want. Book by Sunday for rooms up to 8 February
And I'd just booked a room myself in December for £29 which is now £25. C'est la vie.0 -
Unfortunately I think the days of getting up at 4am to book £9 rooms in central London are long gone :-( I never see any rooms under £20 now0

Ah, I have fond memories if doing that. Got some good bargains as well, especially for London:)
These days are gone sadly. Sales are much rarer, and never have any cheap rooms for London. We booked two nights in March back in December, the rooms have now gone up by £20 per night:eek:
I'd book now if I were you OP.0 -
It really depends on 2 things - 1) where the hotel is and 2) the dates. I have seen rooms go from as little as £19 in the sale BUT they are ALWAYS Sunday nights at the hotel I am wanting. My lowest Travelodge price was £23 a room.
They also seem to play around with prices the more times you look on your computer. I keep checking the prices of a particular hotel over the weekend and it jumped by £10 on my desktop. Logged on through my phone and it was £15 cheaper? sneaky dogs.0 -
I'd be careful about fire regulations should the fire alarm sound and you have to vacate the building, and you are all in one room. The max persons per room is there for a reason I'm afraid.
However, that said if you do book 2 rooms and its only for one night, ask for an ajoining room with an internal door in between rooms and then you can leave that door open and get a bigger space and looks like the same room but not. Or, hubby with 1 child and you with 2?0 -
Thanks for all the help. I didn't even know they had interconnecting rooms. That would be ideal and then we could have a bigger space as you say. I'll give them a phone and see if they can do this.0

TBH, I've never come across a Travelodge that has (although I've never specifically asked) - I can't imagine where in the standard layout rooms where you could put an interconnecting doors, atohugh I guess the ones that they have bought from other hotel chains and rebadged may have them.
Some of the other chains such as Holiday Inn I think do....0 -
p00hsticks, the Travelodge at Meadowhall Sheffield has interconnecting rooms I believe BUT it was changed from another hotel so like you say maybe why. I have yet to find one with interconnecting rooms but my friend who travels for business tells me that some motorway Travelodges have them.0
