Beware of Virgin Mobile in Spain

Having recently changed to Virgin mobile and going to Spain I rang to ask if my mobile would be usable in Spain and was told that it would. I arrived in Spain (Malaga) and switched on my phone. Having been using mobile phones abroad for as long as its been possible I was surprised not to get a text. I then tried to send a text. I went on to the web site and it said I could use in Spain if I had problem to reboot, I did, nothing happened, take the battery out when switched I did again nothing happened. It said select a company I tried them all. Still nothing. When I got back I rang up Virgin and they told me that there was an "issue" in Spain at the moment, why wasn't I told that before I went when I called. My travel company had that number, lucky there were no problems. We had taken someone else's child and that was the contact as well. Needless to say my contracts been cancelled! Interesting when I was looking for who to change to I was told that Virgin had no connections in Spain.

If you have cancelled your contract without VM agreement you will be charged for the remaining months .0

Perhaps because the issue didn't arise until after you left?LittleMo51 wrote: »When I got back I rang up Virgin and they told me that there was an "issue" in Spain at the moment, why wasn't I told that before I went when I called.
Virgin Mobile does have partner networks in Spain, three in fact: Movistar, Amena and Vodafone.0
