The payments issue is a red Herring, for instance I have two personal contracts that my company pays.
The only chance you would have is to try and get the contract voided by taking action against CPW for mis selling.

You would need to be able to return the 3 handsets and prove you did not accept liability when they to say it was a personal contract
It's not just about the money

A company can set up a 'personal' type of phone account if they choose. A 'business' contract may cost much more, does not have the same cancellation rights and should have some form of service guarantee. A Limited company is treated as an individual in law so the issue of a 'business' or 'personal' type phone contract is a bit of a red herring. What you need to be clear about is who's name was on the contract originally. Was it 'joe blogs' or was it 'my company ltd'. Changing the contract from 'my company ltd' to 'joe blogs' without some proovable form of consent is EXACTLY the same in law as them changing it from 'joe blogs' to 'jane doe' without the express consent of 'jane doe'. They cant do it.

As i said before though i think you do need some proper legal advise on this one.

I've a feeling Orange will have this covered with the act of Novation which you agree to do in the T&C's within 14 days.

That said I don't understand why the OP has been told that CPW don't do business contracts when they clearly do and have a website dedicated to it ???
I also don't understand why Orange would feel the need to transfer liability unless the company failed a credit check ???

Yep, it doesnt sound like the OP has given the full story so its pretty hard to know the correct course of action.
